An update is coming this morning on the mechanical problems affecting Marine Atlantic’s brand new ferry, the Ala’suinu.
The vessel arrived in Nova Scotia in late April, but Marine Atlantic says a problem with the lubrication system means the vessel won’t enter service on the Argentia run as scheduled June 15.
The delay prompted a quick response from Tourism Minister Steve Crocker who expressed concern about the potential impact on the province’s tourism industry.
Director of Fleet Operations, Captain Anderson Noel, and Vice President of Customer Experience, Colin Tibbo, will speak with reporters this morning at 11:00 at the corporation’s office in St. John’s.
VOCM News will be there.
