The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is warning of the dangers of illicit drugs following two sudden deaths on the province’s west coast in the last two weeks.
RNC say the deaths occurred in Corner Brook, though official causes have not yet been determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
There have been three others who have required medical intervention after drug use.
The Constabulary believes this to be indicative of a potential increase in the availability of illicit—and possibly fatal—drugs.
Anyone who is using such drugs should ensure that a Naloxone kit is nearby. If someone is experiencing symptoms of an overdose they should call 911 immediately. Addictions supports are available by calling 811.
