It’s a weekend when dad takes it easy and, in some cases, is showered with gifts.
Father’s Day is Sunday, and even though the high cost of living has straddled some with difficult situations, about 61 per cent of those asked plan to buy gifts for the dad or father figure in their lives. Of those according to Jim Cormier, Atlantic Director of the Retail Council of Canada, about 90 per cent plan to either maintain or exceed the amount they spend on dad.
“Almost 57 per cent plan to spend at least $50 on Father’s Day gifts, 31 per cent going between $50 and $100, and 14 per cent planning to spend between $100 and $150,” says Cormier.
