Police have filed dozens of more sexual violence charges against Paradise teach and volleyball coach Markus Hicks.
The RNC have repeatedly said they believe more people would come forward in the case since Hicks was first arrested last fall. They weren’t wrong.
This morning, another 63 charges of sexual violence laid, stemming from allegations by another 11 complainants.
That now puts the total number of charges at more than 200 involving 35 alleged victims.
VOCM News has since learned that some of the crimes date back to 2008, when Hicks would’ve been 24, before he became a teacher.
The new charges include sexual assault and child pornography offences against complainants as young as 12 years old.
It’s alleged Hicks lured men, women and children to his home for sex through online platforms, all the while posing as someone else.
The charges will be formally laid today against Hicks, who remains in custody at the correctional centre in Bishop’s Falls.
He’s due back in court June 21, with trial on some of the charges already set for December.
