A section of the aging and oft-troubled H.G.R. Mews Centre is closing yet again, this time for scheduled maintenance.
The swimming pool, steam room and sauna will be unavailable from June 23 until July 2 inclusive.
The rest of the building will remain open.
The decades-old recreation facility has been limping toward retirement pending the opening of its replacement on the other side of Mundy Pond.
The new Mews Centre was scheduled to open last fall, but that’s been twice pushed back with no firm opening date announced.
The City of St. John’s says slow supply chains and labour shortages have contributed to the delays.
