Premier Andrew Furey is confident in the firefighting response with seven wildfires now burning in Labrador.

Four of the fires are currently listed as out of control. Two are burning just west of Churchill Falls, the other two are north of the community in more remote areas.

The other fires are listed as being held—and those are north of Lab City.

Premier Andrew Furey praises the response of the team fighting the fires, noting that he spoke with them on a conference call yesterday.

Furey says Command Control yesterday informed him that things are under control, and commends the “amazing job” they are doing.
