It is going to get hot on parts of the island and Labrador as we feel the residual effects of the heat dome which first covered eastern Ontario yesterday.
Environment Canada has heat warnings out for New Brunswick today with temperatures well into the thirties. Warnings could also be issued later for parts of Newfoundland, particularly the northeast coast and the interior.
Robert Grove, a meteorologist with Environment Canada in Gander, says the mercury on the Avalon Peninsula will hit the mid-twenties tomorrow and high twenties on Thursday before cooling Thursday night. Tomorrow night could be a little uncomfortable in some areas of the island for sleeping.
In some places including central and the northeast, the overnight low Wednesday will be in the high teens, maybe even the low twenties, says Grove.
