The schedule has been released for the lying-in-state of the remains of the Unknown Soldier.
The WWI Newfoundland Regiment soldier’s remains were excavated from the battlefield where he died in France and were repatriated to the province earlier this month.
That soldier, known only unto God, is now representative of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who paid the supreme sacrifice.
The remains will lie-in-state at Confederation Building in St. John’s next week before being interred in the newly-constructed Tomb of the Unknown Solider during Memorial Day ceremonies on July 1st.
The public will be able to pay their respects in the front lobby of the Confederation Building next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
