The fledgling tent encampment south of the old Grace Hospital didn’t last long.
The property owner, government, complained to the RNC who, acting under provincial law, asked the inhabitants to leave the area. Police say all people were co-operative, and left the area with their belongings and without incident.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says they encourage all transient individuals to consider their personal safety and take advantage of any housing options available.
He says officers responded, had an open dialogue with the people on site, and they moved on as requested.
