Conditions continue to improve in Labrador as all of Labrador West is now back on the NL Hydro grid after the past couple of days of operating on reduced or no power, depending on location.
Labrador MP Yvonne Jones says they are briefed regularly, and the forest fire nearest the town has been downgraded to a category one.
The one along the highway about 17 km from the town is holding. The Trans-Labrador Highway between Churchill Falls and Happy Valley-Goose Bay has since been reopened.

She notes that there are still a number of fires burning which require the dedication of waterbombers at this point.
Fire Duty Officer Mark Lawlor says there was too much smoke from the more threatening fire to attack by either air or ground, but they will be able to use both means of attack over the next while.
About 11 mm of rain fell in the Churchill Falls area yesterday with more on the way over the next few days.
Showers are in the forecast for Friday night and some precipitation is expected on the weekend, so that should allow crews to fight the enemy from the ground or air with either helicopter or waterbomber.
A total of 11 forest fires are currently burning in Labrador.
