Some seniors across the province will be able to get their driver’s medicals done virtually.
Government and NL Health Services are expanding coverage for driver’s medicals to include exams performed through the Newfoundland and Labrador Virtual Care Program.
People 75 and older, who do not have a family doctor and are registered on Patient Connect, can now request a medical that will be performed through Teladoc as part of their existing contract.
The company will complete the driver’s medical examination report and coordinate the in-person completion of a guided physical and eye exam.
The cost will be covered as an insured service.
