There is more bad news for Marine Atlantic and the Argentia crossing.
The new ferry, the Ala’suinu, is still nowhere near ready as mechanics continue to find more debris in the lines for the vessel’s fuel and lubrication system.
Marine Atlantic spokeperson Darrell Mercer says they have technicians from around the world working to rectify the issue, but every time they think they can move ahead to the next steps the suffer a setback.
He says they continue to find debris. Mercer states that could have a high level of confidence one week, and then more debris is found putting them back to square one.
Crossings have been cancelled through July 10, which means customers will have to continue going through Port aux Basques.
