A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, who has been at the forefront of planning for the refurbishment of the National War Memorial, says he is “so happy” with the way things look down at the site.
The final touches are being put in place today and tomorrow ahead of the ceremony on Monday, which will see the remains of an Unknown World War I Soldier interred at the site, and celebrate the centennial of the memorial itself.
Legion spokesperson Gary Browne says he goes down to the site every night with his wife to do a reconnaissance of the work.
Brown states he is “blown away” by the job that has been done.
