It’s the time of year when road construction projects abound in most communities to some degree, and that means slowdown zones galore.
Signs giving drivers and pedestrians a heads-up can be an irritation as they chew up a small slice of a lane, but RNC Cst. James Cadigan says they are necessary to help improve safety as construction zones are a workplace.
Cst. Cadigan notes that there are flag persons at the sites, and the signage is there for a reason—to tell people to decrease speed or stop. He says those who work in road construction zones deserve a safe workplace just as the rest of us.
