The RCMP encountered excessive speeding, impaired driving and a near miss with one of their officers in separate incidents over the weekend.
The first incident occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday when a driver was clocked at 192 km/h on the TCH near Bellevue.
The 22-year-old driver was ticketed for excessive speeding, his license was suspended and vehicle impounded.
The next day shortly before noon, the RCMP caught a driver going 139 km/h on the TCH near Middle Gull Pond.
The 18-year-old driver failed a breath test and was arrested for impaired. He will appear in court at a later date on that charge. He was also ticketed for speeding, and had his license and vehicle taken.
Then, at 5:30 p.m. that same day, an officer pulled over a driver on the Veterans Memorial Highway.
While outside their cruiser during the stop, the officer was almost struck by an oncoming driver who had pulled out and passed another vehicle.
The 60-year-old man who was driving was located a short time later and ticketed for failing to move over.
