The province’s recreation minister says as far as he is aware, the Aquarena will be ready to go for the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
The facility, which was built for the last time the province hosted the games in 1977, is undergoing some extensive renovations to get it up to snuff for next year.
Despite consistent messaging from officials that the facility will be ready for the games, rumours persist to the contrary.
Steve Crocker maintains that swimmers will be in the Aquarena’s pool come 2025.
He notes that it is MUN’s project, but he hasn’t been told there are any issues.
