You don’t have to go very far in the metro region these days without coming into contact with a film crew making the most of the summer filming season.

The CEO and Film Commissioner with Picture NL, Laura Churchill, says it’s a busy year with a number of productions underway.

“There’s four right now,” says Churchill. “Those are more of our large-scale stuff. There is regularly some really great smaller, short films, but also lower-budget, shows, Bell Fibe has been great for us.” Not to mention lifestyle-type films. “I think we did close to seven last year, so it’s very good for everyone.”

Churchill can’t say which larger-scale projects are currently filming in the province right now, but at least one has already been identified by those in the community as an episode of the series Reacher.
