Police in the metro area have arrested a man in connection with alleged sexual offences against a young person in the Mount Pearl area.

RNC were contacted on Friday, and provided information about an “ongoing” sexual assault against a young person.

The victim and accused were known to each other.

A man was arrested later that same day and charged with assault, sexual assault, assault causing bodily harm, sexual interference and incest.

The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit, which investigates the most sensitive of matters, including assault against children and sexual assaults, are investigating.

Anyone with information to help with the police investigation is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
