A 43-year-old man was arrested after the RNC responded to a break and enter in the capital city overnight.

Shortly after midnight police responded to an east end home. When they arrived the suspect, who was known to the homeowners, ran out the back door. Officers chased the man and arrested him following a brief struggle.

The man was charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and breaching a release order.

He was taken to the lockup for court.
