Canadian Blood Services is putting the call out for people to roll up their sleeves to help them fill nearly 900 appointments for the month of August.

Community development manager, Gord Skiffington, says it’s difficult to meet demand in the summer months as fewer people tend to be donating.

He says the situation is not unique to this province as the blood supply right across Canada is falling short of the demand.

Appointments to donate blood can be made online, by calling 1 888 2 DONATE or downloading the GiveBlood App.
