The provincial government is now accepting bids for the construction of a bailey bridge in Marystown.
The temporary bridge will provide some relief to residents who have been facing a significant detour since the Canning Bridge was shut down in February 2023 due to unsafe conditions.

Government now has all permits needed to move forward with the construction process, which is expected to begin this fall.
Meanwhile, government says it is continuing to work on a permanent replacement.
