In what is now a persistent trend—and now the sixteenth survey in a row—the gap between the Conservatives and the Liberals remains close to 20 points according to the latest poll by Abacus Data.
If an election were held today, 43 per cent of committed voters would vote Conservative, while 23 per cent would vote for the Liberals, 18 for the NDP, and 4 for the Greens. The Bloc Quebecois holds 37 per cent in Quebec.
Abacus spokesman David Coletto says the results are consistent with their last survey, with very minor changes, as the Conservatives are up one and the NDP are down two.
The Conservatives are the preferred party of 41 per cent of Atlantic Canadians while the Liberals have 34, the NDP 19 and the Greens 4.
The polling was done from July 31 to August 7.
