Fire caused some damage to a popular restaurant in Portugal Cove-St. Philips overnight.
Emergency crews were called to By the Beach shortly before midnight after a fire broke out in the restaurant’s dumpster.
The Portugal Cove-St. Philips Volunteer Fire Department doused the fire which caused damage to the exterior of the building.
The restaurant owners say the restaurant and it’s deck will remain open for business as usual with a few repairs underway over the coming weeks.
The RNC is now investigating the cause of the fire.
