Three staples in the local music scene will be recognized with honourary awards from Music NL next month.
Jean Hewson, a musician and teacher, will be awarded the Unsung Hero Award for her service to the industry.
Corner Brook native David Smallwood is set to be recognized for his commitments to the arts with the Denis Parker Industry Builder Award.
Meanwhile, Shanneygannock, who are celebrating 30 years as a band this year have been named the Lifetime Achievement recipients.
The awards will be handed out during Music NL’s industry awards gala in St. John’s on September 4.
