Premier Andrew Furey says his caucus plans to lean on MHA elect Jamie Korab “in a big way” as the party readies for the House of Assembly to reopen this fall.
Korab was elected as the MHA for Waterford Valley last week, beating out Jesse Wilkins for the PCs and Nicole Boland for the NDP.
Furey indicates that Korab will play an important role.
Having gone door-to-door with Korab, Furey says he brings “a level of compassion and empathy at the constituency level.” He says that was something Tom Osborne was “renowned for.”
As for whether Korab has a cabinet position in his future, Furey wouldn’t tip his hat. “You know that I don’t make cabinet decisions in scrums” he laughed.
