The Department of Education is piloting a new position that will help with student behavior and safety in some schools this school year.
Government says student services teaching and learning assistants will be introduced in six schools throughout the province.
The new positions will work with guidance counsellors and instructional resource teachers to support behavioral management skills for students.
They will also be responsible for things such as hall monitoring.
