Residents and workers in Grand Falls-Windsor are continuing a century-long tradition this Labour Day.
A parade has been held in the town each Labour Day since 1918.
Labour Day Parade Committee Chair Ron Smith believes it’s the last of the big Labour Day parades that used to be held across the province.
“We’ve got a very good committee and it’s a matter I guess of appreciating workers and all that they contribute to our society,” unionized and non-unionized alike.
The parade will form up on Main Street at 9:00 and start at 10:00 following the traditional route to High Street where there will be speeches and prizes for best float, and best decorated bike for the kids.
