An extensive air and sea search was launched Monday for a Coast Guard crewmember reported missing.
The Canadian Coast Guard says the crewmember was not on board the Vincent Massey when it docked at St. John’s on Monday morning.
Officials say an extensive search of the vessel proved unsuccessful and an at-sea search was launched immediately involving both aircraft and vessels.
The Coast Guard says it is doing everything possible to locate the missing crewmember, and their “hearts go out to the employee’s family and loved ones.”
The search continues.
