A 51-year-old man, who had escaped from Her Majesty’s Penitentiary this morning, is back in lawful custody.
Police were called to the Pen this morning around 9:40 a.m. after Todd Boland, who is before the courts on a long list of charges, fled the facility on foot.
Boland was previously charged with uttering threats, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, numerous counts of theft under $5000, and failing to comply with court orders. He’s scheduled to appear in court on those charges on October 21st.
He was apprehended by police around 11:30 a.m. on Signal Hill.
He’s now facing additional charges related to his brief fling with freedom.

Fifty-one-year-old Todd Boland is unlawfully at large after escaping from the facility on foot.
Police were called to the Pen around 9:40 a.m. this morning.
Boland is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and pants at the time of his escape.
RNC Constable James Cadigan is asking anyone who may have seen Boland to contact police immediately.
