Ottawa’s quarterly carbon tax rebate will be hitting bank accounts today.
People in this province will receive $149, with additional funds for those with common-law partners and children. For a family of four, the estimated quarterly payment is just shy of $300.
There will be an extra 20 per cent top-up for those who qualify for the rural supplement. The top-up began at 10 per cent, but it will be increased to 20 to cover April and July payments.
About $20-million will be returned to small businesses in the province, amounting to roughly $179 per employee come December.
The next payment will be issued in January.
