Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue curling rink has wasted little time filling a big vacancy on the team.
They announced today that former skip and 2021 Brier champion Brendan Bottcher will be their new second.
The move comes a week after the Gushue rink parted ways with E.J. Harnden.

The Gushue rink is in action this week at the Henderson’s Steel Fall Classic in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., but they won’t have Bottcher yet due to a scheduling conflict.
Instead, Adam Casey will fill in at second for the event.
Bottcher’s first event with the three-time defending Brier champions will be later this month at the Pan Canadian Curling Championships in his home province of Alberta.
