RCMP are investigating the discovery of human remains inside a burned-out shed in Deer Lake over the weekend.
Police received reports of a shed fire on Middle Road around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the structure engulfed in flames.
It was also determined that an occupant of a nearby house was unaccounted for and, once the shed fire was extinguished, a man’s remains were found inside.
Police are asking neighbours to check any surveillance footage they might have around the time of the fire.
Information can be forwarded to RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
