The provincial government is planning on making some significant changes to the Crown Lands Act, however it will only apply to new applications coming in.
The changes will be introduced in the legislature in the fall sitting.
The changes include a revamped payment structure which, for some, will mean paying nothing other than processing fees, and a new timeframe for adverse possession of 10 continuous years prior to January 1, 1977.
Minister Gerry Byrne says the changes will only apply to new applications.
He says the changes will apply to new applications received “as the legislation passes.”
