Two Liberal MPs from this province are standing by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau amid speculation that more members of his caucus want him to resign.
There are reports from national media suggesting a letter is being circulated asking party MPs to sign on and support a united call for Trudeau to step down as leader.
Dissatisfaction has reportedly been growing for some time, especially since two by-election losses in Liberal strongholds in Montreal and Toronto earlier this year.
At least two Liberal MPs from this province who are maintaining their support for Trudeau, however, are Gudie Hutchings and Joanne Thompson.
Asked for their current stance regarding the PM, Hutchings and Thompson reaffirmed their support for him.
“I’m the candidate for the Long Range Mountains, I stand with the prime minister,” said Hutchings. Added Thompson: “I am proud to be a member of the Liberal Party, I serve my leader, and I stand behind him.”
