Despite concerns raised by the capital city, there have been no issues with flooding at the new mental health and addictions facility.
That’s according to Infrastructure Minister Fred Hutton.
The site, which connects to the Health Sciences, was originally met with opposition, with the municipality objecting due to it being in a known floodplain.
The province, regardless, chose to forge ahead at the site.
“There have been no flooding issues so far. The berm was built, and with or without this facility that berm would have been built. And at this point in time there have been no flooding issues at all.” he said.
