One person is injured after a fire ravaged the iconic Driftwood Inn in the town of Deer Lake.
The blaze broke out around 7:00 this morning, with thick plumes of dark smoke billowing high into the clear blue sky.
Emergency crews are still on the scene and are asking people to stay clear of the structure.
Premier Andrew Furey, who is the MHA for the area, described the scene as “awful” and offered his thanks to the many firefighters and emergency responders at the scene.
According to the RCMP, they expect the investigation to take “several” days.
Everyone who was in the building has been accounted for.
