Two young men street racing on Logy Bay Road in St. John’s were nabbed by the RNC yesterday before they could do any serious damage or cause a crash.
Police clocked them at 132 km/h in the 50 km/h section of the 5-lane east end uptown/downtown connector road. The 17-year-old and 20-year-old were ticketed and had their licenses suspended.
Earlier that day, an 18-year-old had his licence suspended and car impounded after being pulled over for driving at dangerously excessive speeds.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the teen was clocked driving at speeds of up to 180 km/h on the Outer Ring Road.
