People in Corner Brook woke up to a dusting of snow this morning, and that caused issues for some in the morning commute.
Many drivers do not have their winter tires on yet, and studded tires aren’t legally allowed to be put on until Friday.
Videos and photos posted to social media show vehicles slipping, sliding, and pulling off to the side of the road.

Humber-Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce, who lives in Corner Brook, says snow and sleet fell overnight, which froze and made the roads very slippery.
He says on Allen’s Road there was a backup of between 20 and 30 vehicles, including school buses, waiting for about an hour and a half to get over the road. He says eventually, the city was able to come with salt and sand to make the roads passable.
Joyce says he has heard concerns from people about a lack of preparedness and the inability to get their studded tires on before November 1st.
