The Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation Band has a new council.
Jenny Brake was re-elected as Chief for 2024-28.
Other elected members include Charles White, Colleen Paul, Shianne Squires, Frank Skeard and Lory Benoit-Jesso.
Elected by acclamation were Terri Greene, Ernest Green, Ivan White Senior, Calvin Francis and Miranda Osmond.
A byelection to elect a ward councilor for St. George’s will be held at a later date.
