A $1.18 million dollar contract has been awarded to JL Investments for the demolition of the old CNR Bridge on Terminal Service Road in Port aux Basques.
The bridge was closed to traffic last fall due to its deteriorating condition.
The Department of Transportation says planning is already underway to replace the structure with design work expected over the winter and construction set to begin next year.
