The union that represents student assistants in the province’s schools is also speaking out about an escalation in violence and acts of aggression.
NAPE President Jerry Earle says student assistants are reporting similar trends raised repeatedly by the Teachers’ Union.
He told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly, those incidents are getting worse in both frequency and severity.
He’s heard about staff who have been assaulted, had things thrown at them, and been subject to threats and aggressive behavior. “We’re seeing an escalation, which is concerning.”
