Municipal elections, which fall every four years on a fixed date in September, are being deferred to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The 2025 general municipal election will take place on October 2nd instead of September 30th.
Municipal elections are usually held every four years on the last Tuesday in September, but in 2025, they will coincide with the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
Local Service Districts will also hold their elections on the same date starting in 2025, as per new Towns and Local Service Districts legislation, which comes into effect on January 1st.
