Equinor has wrapped up exploratory drilling in the Newfoundland offshore, with no commercial hydrocarbon discovered.
The company says drilling at Sitka, and its second well location, Cappahayden South, has concluded, marking the end of its 2024 campaign.
While no commercially significant discoveries were made, Equinor says the information gathered has strengthened its understanding of the Flemish Pass basin.
Equinor says Sitka and Cappahayden South are not part of the Bay du Nord business case and won’t impact progression of the project.
