It turns out that a driver who got his vehicle stuck in a field in Carbonear last Friday was prohibited from driving—for life.
RCMP attempted to stop the vehicle in question last Friday morning around 10:00 on Adelaide Street, but the driver sped away. He was later found stuck in a field on Mahaney’s Lane.
Police say the 58-year-old driver showed signs of impairment and he was taken to the detachment in Harbour Grace where he refused to provide breath samples.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on charges of impaired driving, driving while prohibited and refusing a breath demand.
He was also ticketed for not having registration or insurance.
