A 33-year-old man is facing a list of charges following a disturbance in Avondale Wednesday night.

Police were called to a home on Barry’s Island Road around 7:30 after a man was allegedly assaulted by another who had a weapon.

The suspect was identified as Gary March, who police say was still in the house when they arrived on the scene.

An advisory was issued for residents to stay away from the area while police surrounded the home and established communication with March.

He surrendered to police several hours later.

The accused is now facing charges of assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

March was remanded to custody pending his next court appearance on November 14.
