Health Canada has recalled thousands of electric space heaters as they may be a fire hazard.
The recall involves the GoveeLife and Govee smart heaters with model numbers H7130 to 135. The heaters were sold in black and white and range from 9 inches in height to 26 inches.
The agency says the items can overheat.
So far, Health Canada has received seven reports of overheating in this country but no incidents involving injury. In the United States, over 100 reports of overheating are on record, with one minor injury – a burn.
Consumers should immediately stop using the heaters, and register for a refund. They were sold on Amazon.
Anyone who has questions can call the agency at 1-833-772-5360.
