The MHA for Labrador West says a human resources plan is needed if the government wishes to reduce the number of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians still without a family doctor.
The NLMA released the results of a Narrative Research survey it commissioned that shows 30 per cent of those asked still do not have a primary health care provider.
The answer, according to Jordan Brown, is a healthcare human resources plan.
He says, “it’s shocking, but not surprising” that the province is still waiting for the government to deliver a human resources plan.
He wants to know how many more times healthcare workers have to voice their concerns about workload before the government realizes it’s a key element of successful recruitment and retention.
