Labour disruptions at two of Canada’s busiest ports are a concern for the Atlantic Provinces Chamber of Commerce.
Dock workers are locked out in Vancouver, as a labour dispute wears on at Canada’s busiest port.
Meanwhile, workers in Montreal have also been locked out, leading to even greater concerns about the flow of goods across the country ahead of the holiday season.
CEO of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, Rhonda Tulk-Lane says the labour disputes are of utmost concern.
“We’re extremely concerned with this, in fact, we agree with the Canadian Chamber, which has said Canada has effectively signaled that “‘we’re closed for business right now.’ Which is pretty concerning, especially given what’s happening with our neighbours to the south.”
