The City of Mount Pearl will be splitting a donation of $11,745 among three local food banks.
The money was raised during the second annual Haunting of Powers Pond event in October, which attracted people from throughout the region.
The money will be shared by the St. Vincent de Paul food banks at St. Peter’s and Mary Queen of the World churches and the Salvation Army.
Mayor Dave Aker will present the cheques at today’s regular Mount Pearl city council meeting. He was thrilled with the success of the second annual event, something he says “truly showcases the generous spirit of Mount Pearl.”
