A 17-year-old boy is facing serious charges following a disturbance Saturday evening at the Avalon Mall.

Responding officers spoke to two men who were involved in an altercation with another person who had fled the scene before police arrived.

One of the victims was sent to hospital for treatment of injuries.

The teenage suspect was found nearby a short time later and charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, theft under $5,000 and breach of a release order.

He was held for court.
